In a career behind the camera spanning 15 years, Michael has gained experience in many modes of visual storytelling. He earned an M.F.A. in Film Production from the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University, where he was nominated for the Kodak Scholarship and twice received the Panavision New Filmmaker Grant. He has shot three feature films and dozens of shorts, commercials, music videos and television pilots, serving as DP & Camera Operator.
Michael is also an accomplished visual journalist. He is an editorial contributor to Zuma Press and Rex Features/Shutterstock, and his photos have been featured by Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo, The Guardian, Huffington Post, New Scientist and Mother Jones. He has captured images on assignment around the world for non-profits including the African Education Program, Special Olympics, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Rebuilding Together.
